SECRETARY
MESSAGE
The sixth edition of the BENGALURU INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is
all set to be launched on 26th December, 2013 and the festival will be
celebrated for a week ending on 02, January, 2014.
The festival is now becoming more and more popular with a large number
of delegates participating in the event. In order to smoothen the process of
organizing this annual event in a systematic manner, we have realized that
we have to plan for providing a better infrastructure with State of the Art
facilities for film projection on the similar lines that are available at the
other major festivals in India.
The Karnataka Government has provided many incentives to the Karnataka
Film Industry and this festival is another incentive which gives a wider
perspective to cinema as an important cultural event.
Wishing all the best for the success of this prestigious International event.
K.R Niranjan IAS
Secretary to Government
Kannada, Culture and Information Department
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
MESSAGE
May | take this opportunity to welcome all the delegates from India and
abroad as well to the sixth edition of the BENGALURU INTERNATIONAL
FILM FESTIVAL to be held during December, 26, 2013 to January, 02,
2014.
We have found from our experience that there is huge response from the
film lovers of Bangalore to register as delegates and watch the films. This
year we are able to increase the number of seats by booking bigger halls
for screenings so that delegates are not disappointed for want of
accommodation. We are also able to fix the venues in such a way that they
are situated within a range of 2 KM from our administrative office.
We have also made necessary arrangements for the Master classes, press
conferences, Discussion meetings, and other related activities to be held
in the premises of Vartha Soudha, Infantry Road, Bengaluru which is
ideally located at the center of all the venues.
We also invite valuable suggestions from our delegates so that we can
provide better facilities. Wishing you all a Very Happy 2014 and pleasant
and enjoyable viewing of the films in the festival.
With best Wishes,
N.R Vishukumar
Director, Department of Information
Government of Karnataka
and Festival Executive Director

It gives me immense satisfaction to record here that within a span of

around 160 films from 52 countries on a wide range of genres and Topics.
This edition has some highly acclaimed films in the Asian, Cinema of the
world, Fipresci Award winners, and Netpac Award winners sections. Even
the Retrospective and country focus sections are quite a good collection.

vastly improved and there are many good films which | am sure will be
