POWER WAGONS

Dodge

Power Wagons
offer more
than 40 years
of4WD
experience.

While others talk about four-wheeNdrive
toughness and dependability, remember
one thing: oniy Chrysler Corporation can
back up their story with more than 40 years
of continuous four-wheel-drive production
and development. More than four decades
of trial under the most grueling conditions
have helped Dodge earn its valued
reputation.

Today, based on the wealth of experi¬
ence and research that is part of every
Dodge Power Waoon, they are recognized
for reliability, durability and solid construc¬
tion throughout.

And what makes Dodge such a tough
and able performer under any and all con¬
ditions? Well, let s lake cab construction
for instance

Did you know that in addition to the use
of double-walled steel construction
throughout the cab roof, the cab utilizes
sturdy box-section structural members at
sills, door pillars, roof, cowl, rear window
header and cab back panel? Dodge Power
Wagons for 1980. Everything the name
implies. That's the way it's been for more
than four decades.

Power Wagon's durable pickup box
construction.

construction with double-wail sides and
tailgate on Sweptline pickups helps keep dents
on the inside of the box from marring the
exterior appearance.

V

Galvanized Steel:

Dodge’s Answer to Rust Protection.

Dodge Power Wagon construction includes use of galvanized steel in
many critical body areas to help protect against corrosion. For
example, galvanized steel is used for the floor, inner side panels,
wheelhousings. stake pockets, floor cross sills, rear corner panels,
and on the Inside surface of the tailgate panel of the welded steel
Sweptline pickup box. Also, front fenders and other front-end sheet
metal stampings are made of galvanized steel. And to help the sheet
metal resist corrosion, each truck body is prepared for the primer coat
by a six-stage spray phosphate treatment. High-gloss acrylic enamel
paint completes the durable, quality exterior.

“Part-Time”
Four-Wheel Drive

For 1980, Dodge offers a “part-time" four-
wheel-drive system. By unlocking the
manual front wheel hubs and putting the
transfer case shift selector into “Two-Wheel
High,*’ you drive with rear wheel power only.
When the system is in two-wheel drive, the
front driving axle is disconnected and not in
operation. Of course, the four-wheel-drive
mode can be used by locking the manual
front wheel hubs and shifting

the transfer case shift selector Into
"Four-Wheel-High” or “Four-Wheel-
Low“ position. The NP208 transfer case
Is used on W150 and W200 Power
Wagon pickups (except Crow Cabs),
and the NP205 transfer case is used in
heavier duty applications on W200
Crew Cabs and all W300 and W400
Power Wagons. Enjoy the advantage of
two-wheel-drive economy ... or the
gutsy pulling power of part-time four-
wheel drive when you need it. Either
way. Dodge Power Wagons give you a
timely choice.
